Where does the wood and acetate for the frames come from?
All LUMBR frames only come from forests with FSC certification. All of our acetates are plant-based.

What does FSC certification mean?
The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), is a non-profit organization that sets certain high standards to make sure that forestry is practiced in an environmentally responsible and socially beneficial manner. This means that each pair of LUMBR frames is only manufactured with the highest quality and most environmentally friendly sourced woods.

What are Polarized Lenses?
Polarized lenses are specially coated lenses that cut glare and haze resulting in a more comfortable natural feel. Each pair of LUMBR frames comes with polarized lenses resulting in a 99% 400 UVA/UVB protection. See "What are TAC Lenses" for more information about our lenses.

How does each LUMBR frame fit?
You'll find sizing on each product page - ex. Frame Sizing: 55-20-138. The first number indicates eye size, second number indicates bridge size, and finally the third number indicates temple size.

Do LUMBR frames float?
Yes! The majority of our LUMBR frames float! Look for the They float! icon in the frame description.

What are TAC lenses?

Triacetate Cellulose, otherwise known as TAC Lens, feature a new lens technology formulated for superior visual and polarization clarity. They are hard coated to resist scratching and block out 99% of all harmful UV rays up to 400 nanometers.

How do I take care of my new pair of LUMBRs?
Each pair of LUMBR frames comes with a special jute case and microfibre cloth, we recommend purchasing a hard case to protect your new pair of LUMBRs.

NOTE: There is always the possibility of the wood to crack at very high temperatures, that is why we recommend not leaving your sunglasses on your car dashboard or anywhere else where extreme heat can damage the frame.
